The WhatsApp messaging application has just launched a novelty that users have been waiting for: the message editing feature. This means that it is now possible to correct any typing errors or even change the content of a message that had already been sent. This Monday (22), Mark Zuckerberg, president of Meta, announced that WhatsApp will include a feature to edit sent messages. According to a statement released by the company, the feature will be accessible to everyone within the next few weeks. In order to enjoy the new features, it is essential to have the latest version of the application.
How to use the tool
To use the tool, just hold your finger on the sent content to select the message you want to edit and tap on the "Edit" button, which should appear at the top of the screen. Then make the necessary changes and tap "Save" for the message to be updated. However, it is important to note that there is a time limit for editing the message. After 15 minutes of sending, it will not be possible to make changes. When a message has been edited, it will be displayed with the word "edited" next to it.
If you are unable to edit the message, you will have to use the delete for everyone option and after that two day period, the only option available will be "delete for me". It's always important to be careful when editing a message, as the recipient may have already read or even replied to the original message. Therefore, the ideal is to use the resource sparingly and only in really necessary situations. Anyway, the novelty is very welcome and promises to make life easier for WhatsApp users, making communication through the application even more efficient and practical.
