The wreckage of titan submarine, which sank into the depths of the Atlantic Ocean during an expedition to the remains of the Titanic, was taken this Wednesday (28) to a port located in southern Canada. The vessel's fragments will now be used in the ongoing investigation, whose objective is to determine the causes and circumstances of the implosion that resulted in the tragic death of the five crew members on board.

Investigations
A main investigation will be carried out by the United States Coast Guard, which led the search operations. Canada and France will provide assistance in this process, having participated in operations with ships, planes and rigs. The wreckage of the submarine and the confirmation of the death of the five crew members were only found six days after the announcement made by the US Coast Guard.
Expedition
OceanGate Expeditions planned the expedition with the aim of observing the wreckage of the Titanic, which sank in 1912 in the Atlantic Ocean, at an approximate depth of 3,800 meters, 650 km off the coast of Canada. The company, which specializes in maritime tourism, organized the expedition, which required payment of US$ 250,000 (R$ 1.19 million) per passenger. The departure took place in Newfoundland, Canada, and the descent began on June 18, two days after the start of the expedition. Initially, it was estimated that the trip to the wreck of the Titanic would take about two hours. Unfortunately, after 1 hour and 45 minutes of travel, there was a loss of communication with the module.
Submersible
The submersible Titan disappeared on June 18. Authorities, including the US Coast Guard, announced the discovery of the wreckage on June 22. During an operation conducted by the remotely controlled vehicle (ROV) team aboard the ship Horizon Arctic, the tail cone of the submersible Titan was located at a distance of approximately 1600 feet from the front of the wreckage of the Titanic.
In addition, other debris was found, such as the nose cone outside the pressure hull, and a larger debris field. These findings showed that the five crew members aboard the submersible Titan had lost their lives instantly in a "catastrophic implosion" during their descent to the wreckage of the Titanic, which lies two miles below the surface of the Atlantic Ocean.
