Shooting at a state school in the east of SP leaves one dead and three injured
The attack occurred on Monday morning at Escola Estadual Sapopemba, resulting in the death of one student, while three other students were injured. The shooter was arrested at the scene.

A student lost her life and three others were injured in a shooting attack that occurred this Monday morning (23), in a school in São Paulo. According to information provided by São Paulo Public Security Secretariat, the student who died was rescued, but could not resist and died in the region's Emergency Room.
School shooting
The attack occurred at around 7:20 am in Sapopemba State School, located in the East Zone of São Paulo. According to the Public Security Secretariat, a 15-year-old young man, wearing a school uniform, entered the school carrying a gun and fired shots. The Military Police were called to respond to the incident on Rua Senador Lino Coelho at approximately 7:30 am. A corporation helicopter and around 20 vehicles of the PM were mobilized to deal with the situation.
The injured were taken to the emergency room at Sapopemba Hospital. One of the victims was hit in the head and did not survive his injuries. The other two people were shot in the chest and collarbone. A fourth student injured his hand when he broke glass while trying to escape the attack. The shooter, still with a firearm in his possession, surrendered to the police.
Repercussion
In a post on social media, the mayor of São Paulo, Ricardo Nunes (MDB), expressed his sorrow for the loss and offered condolences to the victims' relatives and friends.
“I hope for the speedy recovery of the injured who were taken to the neighborhood hospital. The police have already arrested the shooter. I am in contact with the State to offer the necessary support”, he declared.
The Minister of Justice and Public Security, Flávio Dino, expressed solidarity with the victims and the school community in the city of São Paulo. He announced that the Cybercrime Laboratory of the Ministry of Justice was mobilized to provide assistance to the São Paulo authorities.
The governor arrived at the school around noon. Also present were the Secretary of Public Security, Guilherme Derrite, and Renato Feder, Secretary of Education.
