Context

Rock in Rio became an event with great global repercussions and, in 2004, held its first edition outside Brazil, in Lisbon, Portugal. To date, the festival has had 22 editions: nine in Brazil, nine in Portugal, three in Spain and one in the United States. In 2008, for the first time, the festival took place in two different locations simultaneously: Lisbon and Madrid. Two editions were canceled: those scheduled for Madrid and Buenos Aires in 2014.

The festival's anthem, composed by Nelson Wellington and Eduardo Souto Neto, was originally recorded by the group Roupa Nova. Considered the eighth best festival in the world by the specialized website Festival Fling, Rock in Rio, since its fourth edition in Brazil, usually takes place every two years at the beginning of spring in the country. The last edition took place in 2022. Among the main attractions of this edition of the festival are Travis Scott, Katy Perry, Shawn Mendes, Imagine Dragons, Avenged Sevenfold and Ed Sheeran.
