Police reveal that a Serb who claimed to be Slovenian and lived clandestinely in Brazil committed multiple homicides in Europe

The Civil Police made a surprising discovery in the case of the individual fatally shot in front of his wife and son, in Santos, on the coast of São Paulo. Investigations revealed that, in fact, the man who claimed to be Slovenian was actually Serbian and was being sought by Interpol, the international police, suspected of being a hired killer.

A shocking revelation rocked law enforcement authorities this week when it was discovered that a Serbian man, who pretended to be Slovenian and lived clandestinely in Brazil, is the main suspect in a series of homicides in Europe. The Civil Police are investigating whether Darko Geisler, a Serb who was shot dead in Santos, on the coast of São Paulo, was the target of an execution due to several homicides he allegedly committed in Eastern Europe. Geisler used a false name, associated with a Slovenian, and had lived clandestinely in Brazil for the last 9 years. Authorities are searching for the person responsible for executing the foreigner.

During a press conference, delegate Luiz Ricardo Lara Dias Júnior, who works as head of the 3rd Police District (DP) of Santos, together with the Santos sectional delegate, Rubens Eduardo Barazal Teixeira, shared that the initial priority of the Civil Police was the identification of the victim. In this subsequent phase, the emphasis is on the search for images that can reveal the identity of the person responsible for the murder by Serbian citizen Darko Geisler.

The crime occurred in Santos, on December 5th, while Geisler was returning home on a bicycle with his wife and son. The foreigner was shot several times and lost his life in front of his wife and son. Surveillance cameras recorded the incident, providing important evidence for ongoing investigations.

Slovenian crimes

Darko carried a passport with Slovenian nationality, which led the police to suspect that he was from the country. During investigations, information obtained from the Slovenian consulate confirmed that the document did not belong to him. The numbering revealed that the passport was registered in the name of a Slovenian citizen, lost in 2017. The delegate highlighted that, upon visually analyzing the passport presented, there was no entry stamp into the national territory. When a foreigner enters Brazilian soil without this stamp, it means the absence of a registration by the Federal Police.

Carrying out a reverse search on the internet using the suspect's photo, the Civil Police were able to identify records in Montenegro, a country neighboring Serbia, related to multiple homicides, possession of weapons and explosives associated with him. Authorities in Montenegro provided Brazilian police with a fingerprint of the suspect, indicating that he was a hired killer. This fingerprint matched the one found on the body in the Embaré neighborhood. Therefore, the Civil Police concluded that the individual in question was Darko Geisler, of Serbian nationality.

"We can say, with absolute certainty, based on expert technical evidence, that this multiple homicide investigated in Montenegro is the victim of a homicide that occurred here in the city of Santos, on Rua São José, on the 5th", informed Lara.

The last recorded offense attributed to Darko was the murder of a man at the entrance of a prison in Montenegro, which occurred on December 25, 2014. After this incident, he escaped to Bosnia, where, according to the police chief, he became an almost invisible figure. Police authorities suspect that he has remained clandestinely in Brazil for the last nine years.

Profession and family

Before the Civil Police revealed the foreigner's true identity, Darko's wife stated that she had no knowledge of her husband's past. According to authorities, the couple met between 2015 and 2016, in São Paulo, and moved to Baixada Santista in 2017. Darko did not have Brazilian documents or an active source of income; he depended on resources sent by the family monthly, coming from a business he supposedly maintained in Eastern Europe.

One detail that caught the police's attention was the fact that the couple's son, about to turn 4 years old, is only registered with his mother's surname. Darko's wife has already given a statement, but she is expected to be summoned again to provide further clarification, according to the Civil Police.

Execution

According to the delegate, there is a possibility, among the many that still arise during the police investigation, that this murder is linked to the Serb's participation in multiple homicides that occurred in Eastern Europe. This is based on information from the Montenegrin authority, which stated that Darko Geisler was part of criminal organizations operating not only in Montenegro, but throughout the eastern European region, especially as a hired assassin for this purpose.

So far, the certainty is that Darko is the Serbian contract killer wanted by Interpol for several murders. There is, so far, no data on possible crimes committed by him in Brazil, but the police do not exclude this possibility. The information obtained so far will be subjected to more rigorous analysis, now with broader collaboration from the Serbian police.
