Israel-Hamas War: Bruna Valeanu's family confirms the young woman's death in a Hamas attack in Israe

Bruna Valeanu's family unfortunately confirmed the young woman's death late this Tuesday morning (10). Bruna had been missing since last Saturday (07), after an attack by the extremist group Hamas in southern Israel that hit the Universo Paralello electronic music festival, close to the Gaza Strip.According to the newspaper "The Times of Israel",at least 260 bodies were found at the scene.
Earlier too Itamaraty confirmed the death of Gaucho Ranani Nidejelski Glazer. Brazilian Karla Stelzer Mendes is still missing. Both Bruna and Ranani were Brazilians who acquired Israeli citizenship after living in the region for a period.

The 24-year-old girl had lived in Israel for eight years, in the city of Petah Tikva, which was home to around 193 thousand inhabitants. His mother also resides in the same city Israel. His younger sister, Nathalia, lives in Rio de Janeiro. Among the three, Bruna was the most fluent in Hebrew, although the language presented itself as yet another challenge in her search for information.
Bruna dedicated part of her time as Volunteer at the religious group Bnei Akiva, which calls itself a "Jewish Religious Zionist youth movement dedicated to inspiring and empowering young Jews with a strong sense of commitment to the Jewish people, the Land of Israel, and the Torah". As of October 2022, she was enrolled at Tel Aviv University, where she was studying communication and arts.
Situation of Brazilians in the region
The first air transport with Brazilian citizens rescued by the Brazilian Air Force (FAB) from conflict areas in Israel departed from Tel Aviv International Airport this Tuesday (10). According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MRE), the KC-30 aircraft, with 211 passengers on board, took off around 8 pm, in the local time zone (2 pm, Brasília time). The plane is on a direct route, non-stop, and is scheduled to land in Brasília in the early hours of this Wednesday (11). For security reasons, the passenger list was not released. Itamaraty informs that five more flights are scheduled until next Sunday (15).

The MRE had previously communicated, through the Embassy in Tel Aviv and the Representation Office in Ramallah, that it is closely monitoring the situation of Brazilian tourists and Brazilian communities in Israel and Palestine. Until now, more than 1,700 Brazilians, mostly tourists staying in Tel Aviv and Jerusalem, expressed interest in being repatriated by filling out an online form. Candidates for repatriation are being organized into priority lists. Initially, priority will be given to Brazilians residing in Brazil who do not have airline tickets.
