Health status of presenter Faustão worsens and informs the need for a heart transplant
The 73-year-old presenter has been hospitalized in São Paulo since August 5 to treat a heart condition. According to information from the hospital where he is hospitalized, Faustão needs a heart transplant and is under intensive care.

O Hospital Albert Einstein, located in the South Zone of São Paulo, issued a statement on Sunday night (20) informing that the presenter Fausto Silva, the Faustão will need a heart transplant. According to the hospital, he is currently waiting for a donor in the queue of the public health system. Still, according to the most recent medical bulletin, Faustão's heart failure condition has worsened significantly.
The presenter is going through dialysis sessions and requires medications to aid functioning suitable from your heart. This week, the hospital's press office had announced that Faustão "was stable and under intensive care".
"On August 5, Fausto Silva was admitted to the Hospital Israelita Albert Einstein for the treatment of heart failure, a condition that has been monitored since 2020. He is under intensive care and, due to the worsening of the condition, there is an indication for a heart transplant . The patient is on dialysis and in need of medication to help the heart pump. Fausto Silva has already been included in the single line of transplants, governed by the São Paulo State Health Department, which takes into account, in order to define prioritization , the waiting time, the blood type and the severity of the case".
The note was signed by physicians Fernando Bacal, cardiologist at Hospital Albert Einstein, and Miguel Cendoroglo Neto, director of medical and hospital services at Einstein.

On Friday the 18th, Fausto published a video recorded directly from the hospital, reporting that he was undergoing medical treatment. This video was shared by his son, João Guilherme, on a social network. In the video, Faustão mentioned the need to undergo surgery, asked for support in the form of prayers and made reference to the medical team that is taking care of his case.
"They will decide what kind of surgery they can do. I ask that, for those who like me, pray for me", said the presenter.
Since June of this year, Faustão has been absent from television. This occurred shortly after the official announcement that the program he commanded, called "Faustão na Band", broadcast by Bandeirantes, would end its activities in August. The program was on the air for a period of a year and a half. Since then, his son and journalist Anne Lottermann have been presenting the attraction. Last Friday, the program came to an end with a previously recorded episode that brought Fausto and his three children together on stage.
In 2021, still at Globo, Faustão had to be hospitalized due to lymphatic edema. The presenter has since undergone a series of regular hospitalizations to treat a problem related to blood flow in the lymphatic vessels, which resulted in the accumulation of fluids due to a deficiency in the body. In the same year, he also contracted a urinary tract infection,which required another hospitalization
