The sweep was conducted during the summer of 2022 by Magellan Ltd, a company specializing in deepwater mapping. Using deep water mapping, the first full-size digital scan of the Titanic, located at a depth of 3,800 meters (12,500 feet) in the Atlantic. For more than 200 hours, the submersibles were operated remotely by a team aboard a specialized vessel, dedicating themselves to the meticulous analysis of the length and width of the wreckage.
More than 700,000 images were captured from all angles, allowing the creation of an accurate 3D reconstruction. It is hoped that this will bring a renewed perspective on the events that occurred with the ocean liner that sank in 1912, thus shedding new light on the events. "The depth of it, almost 4,000m, presents a challenge, and you also have currents in place - and we can't touch anything to not damage the wreckage. And the other challenge is that you have to map every square centimeter - even the uninteresting parts , like in the debris field, you need to map the mud, but you need it to fill in all these interesting objects," he explained.

Details of the sunken ship
The new analysis of the ship reveals both the ship's size and some minute details such as the serial number on one of the propellers. Even after a century since the sinking, the ship's bow remains distinctly recognizable, now adorned with rust stalactites. At the top is the vessel's deck, where an open hole reveals a glimpse of the void that once housed a majestic staircase. The rear part (stern), however, is in a chaotic state of metallic wreckage. That section of the vessel gave way as it sank to the seabed.
Amidst the sacred wreckage, various items can be found, such as ornate metal pieces from the ship, statues and sealed champagne bottles. In addition, there are personal belongings such as dozens of shoes on the surrounding sediment.
