Corinthians, under the command of coach Danilo, won the São Paulo Junior Football Cup title by defeating Cruzeiro 1-0 this Thursday afternoon (25), alreadyNeo Chemical Arena. The São Paulo team had not achieved this feat since 2017. Despite a start marked by mistrust, Timão grew throughout the tournament, overcoming opponents one by one, and secured victory over Raposa with a magnificent goal from Kayke in the final moments of the second half. Corinthians finished the tournament with seven wins, two draws, 25 goals scored and three goals conceded.
With this achievement the club becomes hendecachampion. The closest clubs, with five titles each, are Fluminense and Internacional. In addition to the 11 titles, Timão also participated in eight other finals, where they finished runner-up.
The final attracted more than 43 thousand fans on the city of São Paulo's anniversary holiday, as Pacaembu, the traditional stage for the decision, is still undergoing renovations and has not been reopened.
