Britney Spears' ex-husband arrested for stalking, claims TMZ

The ex-husband of pop singer Britney Spears, was back in the headlines after being arrested last Wednesday (02) on stalking charges. According to information from the well-known American website TMZ, Jason Alexander is currently in custody in a prison in the state of Tennessee, in the United States, for alleged stalking (the act of stalking someone, whether online or in person).
The penalty for this crime can be one to six years in prison or a fine of three million dollars. However, if they are aggravating in the case, Britney's ex-husband may be sentenced to serve a sentence of three to fifteen years in prison, in addition to being subject to a fine of up to $10,000.
So far, it is unclear whether he has the ability to pay bail or when he will appear in court. It has not yet been confirmed whether the singer is in any way related to the stalking. It is worth mentioning that she has a restraining order which requires Alexander to maintain a minimum distance of 100 meters from Spears, and such a measure will be in effect for three years.

The American singer and Alexander were married for a significant amount of time before splitting under circumstances widely reported in the media. The surprise union held in Las Vegas only lasted 55 hours, in 2004 that is, the couple could not maintain their relationship for more than three days.
