There are many theories about the development of human intelligence and a wide range of studies have been conducted concerning the human brain, especially its anatomy. Several approaches, such as phrenology and craniometry, were created with the aim of better understanding this subject.
According to a study published by the British Journal of Psychology in August last year, people who prefer to stay at home rather than go out have higher IQs, that is, they are more intelligent. The research was carried out by psychologists Satoshi Kanazawa (from London) and Norman Li (from Singapore), in which they sought answers about what makes life well lived and how intelligence, population density and friendship can affect people's happiness.
Study
At the time the study analyzed questionnaire responses made with 15,000 volunteers between the ages of 18 and 28, from different regions, ethnicities and customs, based on how happy these people said they were, according to where they lived and how their social interactions were. Two groups were formed: the first, those who usually go out frequently and the second, those who prefer to spend more time at home and after several checks, they came to the conclusion that group 1 had a lower IQ than that of group 2. Second scientists, proving that the smartest people feel less need to socialize and prefer to be at home because their minds have adapted better to the modern lifestyle, disconnecting from the way of life of our ancestors.
Also according to the study, there is an exception, that when analyzing the data of more intelligent people, the results indicated that when these people spend more time with their friends, they actually become more unhappy.“Individuals with high IQ have a greater ability to solve new problems and know how to react better when they are faced with changes", says Kanazawa, one of those responsible for the study, concluding that "Although people who make more social connections are proportionally happier, those more The smart ones are the ones who prefer to stay at home.”
