The Academy Awards announced this Tuesday (23)their nominees for the 96th Academy Awards, the most prestigious award in the film industry. The advertisement wasMade by actors Zazie Beetz (Joker) and Jack Quaid (The Boys), it was broadcast live on the Academy's website, social networks and YouTube.A Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences (AMPAS) will be responsible for conducting the awards ceremony, in which the highlights of 2023 will be honored in the acting, technical and film categories. The event is scheduled to take place on March 10, 2024, at 7 a.m. EST(9 p.m. Brasília time),at the Dolby Theater, located in Los Angeles, California, USA.

The comedianJimmy Kimmel will present the ceremony for the fourth time. This year, the Academy sought to bring more diversity to the awards, with voters from 93 countries.Some of the nominees were already on the radar of film lovers, i.e.as predicted, consolidating the nomination for hits such as "Oppenheimer" and "Barbie". The biopic of the father of the atomic bomb competes in 13 categories, while "Poor Creatures" received 11 nominations and "Killers of the Flower Moon" was recognized 10 times. "Barbie" secured fourth position on the list, with eight nominations. The film "The Rejected" also stands out.

The Oscar represents the culmination of awards season in Hollywood, being the central moment of celebration for the American audiovisual industry.
